SPECIAL GUEST :: ADRIAN SANTOS (First SF DJ Set In 23 Years!)
Adrian Santos was born and raised in New York City, starting to DJ in the early 70's in NY before moving to San Jose, California in 1978. There, he opened Disco Boston, the first East Coast-style dance club. In 1980, Santos began a six year stint at The Silk's in Emeryville. Silk’s was a legendary black afterhours dance club where he played ‘til the sun came up. In 1986 Santos moved to the Trocadero Transfer in San Francisco, playing House and R&B through 1987.
Santos created the first mix show - "Saturday Night Silk's Party" - on the legendary KDIA – which targeted the local African-American audience. This paved the way for FM Urban Stations to start their own mix show. Later, Santos was a Guest Mixer on KMEL in San Francisco.
